Illwickersheim is now called Ostwald and is a commune in Bas-Rhin (Lower Alsace). The renaming to Ostwald took place during the French Revolution. Ostwald belongs to the canton Illkirch-Graffenstaden and is one of the 28 municipalities of the Urban Community of Strasbourg. In the parish register of Ostwald of the year 1601 the birth of his son Samuel jun. has been inscribed by Samuel and his wife
Brigitta. So it can be concluded that Samuel sen. is born about 1575.

Samuel jun. had 3 children, Ursula, Anna and Johannes.
Johannes was born in 1643 in Illwickersheim as well and settled in Dellfeld, Palatinate, where he was juryman, church censor and major.
He married in 1665

From this couple descend the numerous Stock-residents in Dellfeld, Nünschweiler and Oberauerbach.
